Commemorating 1066 in 2016 - Liz and The Kids' Tapestry.

Liz has partnered with English Heritage to create 9 panels of the Kids’ Tapestry which is based on the Top 10 moments in English history from the last 950 years as chosen by kids across the country – from William the Conqueror defeating Harold at the Battle of Hastings to Shakespeare, the coronation of Queen Victoria, the end of the Second World War and right through to Tim Berners-Lee inventing the World Wide Web in 1989.

The Kids’ Tapestry will tour English Heritage sites over the summer from Queen Victoria’s seaside home, Osborne, on the Isle of Wight to a Roman fort on Hadrian’s Wall. Liz  will also lead a series of kids-only illustrator workshops in August, inspiring them to bring history to life with coloured crayons and pencils.

There’s a chance for children to enter a nationwide competition to design the 10th and final panel to complete the Kids’ Tapestry which will then go on view around the country.

You can find out more details about all the events, venues for the other workshops with Liz and details of how to enter the national competition to design the final tapestry panel at the English Heritage website
